The Working Group met to discuss the new theme “Administration of Water.” An introductory paper which has been revised was prepared by Professor Jos Raadschelders who was also confirmed by the Group as Rapporteur of the new study. During the meeting the introductory report was discussed with a view to framing guidelines for an international comparative study on water management based on national reports from eleven countries worldwide, notably including Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom, and United States. Also the Group might open this study to other countries. After having noted the input from all of the participants, a finalised guidelines will now be prepared by the Rapporteur and circulated to the participants for the preparation of national papers.
In addition to a very productive meeting, the Working Group was also invited to a dinner given by the Civil Service College nearby in Sunningdale. The Principle of the College, Mr. Ewart Wooldridge, gave a tour of the campus and spoke on the role of the Civil Service College in education and government reform. Royal Holloway also invited the Group to a reception at the College’s famous picture gallery followed by a dinner. The Principle of Royal Holloway, Mr. Drummond Bone, hosted the event.
