Le groupe d'étude est basé sur le projet de recherche suisse Recherche de base dans la gestion des tribunaux en Suisse, géré par Andreas Lienhard et Daniel Kettiger. Ce projet a pour but de rassembler des informations sur la façon dont les tribunaux suisses fonctionnent et comment cela se rapporte à une connaissance de base du développement de l'organisation et des  caractéristiques professionnelles des personnes travaillant dans les tribunaux, et leur interaction au sein de leurs contextes sociétaux. Le projet a une dimension à la fois nationale et internationale. Nous considérons ce projet de recherche comme une occasion de tendre la main aux chercheurs dans ce domaine et de développer davantage l'administration de la justice et des tribunaux en temps que spécialisation entre le droit, l'administration publique, la sociologie du droit, la criminologie, la sociologie de l'organisation, la psychologie, les sciences politiques et  la philosophie.

The European Group of Public Administration starts a new studygroup, on Justice and Court Administration. The studygroup will meet for the first time in Bergen, Norway, from 5 to 8 September 2012, at the annual EGPA conference. Directors are Philip Langbroek, Andreas Lienhard, Daniel Kettiger and Marco Fabri. You can reach us via egpa@kpm.unibe.ch.

This is an open call for interest for scholars, policymakers and managing civil servants in the justice field. Please send this call for interest to others in your network and organisation. Let us know if you or others from your organisation or faculty want to participate.

If you have any ideas or proposals for subjects to elaborate more specifically in a call for papers, let us know.

Court administration and justice administration are interconnected. The studygroup wants to create a platform, where experiences practices of organisation development, policy development and policy implementation and research into the functioning of institutions and organisations in the justice field can be exchanged and discussed. For researchers it should help them to develop research projects and for persons working in the justice field the studygroup is an opportunity to be informed on the latest developments in research in their field and to influence the development of research. The scope of all this is to build bridges between national perspectives and to build a transnational professional community in the EU and beyond, involving both academics and practitioners. The ultimate aim is to explore common ground for cooperation and exchange in Europe in the justice field amongst policymakers, managers and academics.
