Responsibility of International Organisations
This year the Working Group’s two-day Seminar was hosted by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London on 21 and 22 April. Approximately 50 participants from 25 international organisations came together to examine and discuss the theme of “Responsibility of International Organisations”. Special attention was given to the International Law Commission’s report and draft articles, as well as liability for tortuous conduct. The topic of privileges and immunities was also raised, notably recent developments in relations with national (judicial) authorities. The Group also continued its examination of the question of ethics/codes of conduct for both staff and executive or governing boards. Attention was also drawn to new procedures related to both whistle-blowing and protection against reprisal or retaliation.
